For newly weaned puppies, moisten the food with water and feed frequently during this important growth period. As the puppy grows older, the amount of liquid should be reduced to the amount your puppy prefers or feed completely dry. Divide the suggested feeding portion into three equal servings for puppies six weeks to six months of age. From six months to one year, divide the suggested feeding into two equal portions per day. The amount fed each day will vary by breed, activity level, age, temperament, and climate. Provide a source of fresh, clean water at all times.
